FASHION FAILS OF THE 80s

Keeping up with the fashion trends can be tedious but today, we will be going a little back in time and bring out the tragic blasts from the 80s past. That’s right, the 80s era was no doubt an iconic one with some styles that have become vintage today. People have been recreating these vintage styles of the past with a modern now-a-days twist. But fashion is a vast stream with a lot of memorable highlights, some which are even hard to forget. Let’s count away some of these fashion failures or fiascos which appealed a major population back then but when turned to today, they were just spoil in style.

  • SHOULDER PAD ATTACK

What was going in the head of the designers at the time they created shoulder pads is beyond us but one thing we can assure you is that these wide shoulders padded blazers provided anything but a feminine figure and style to the ladies.

  • WARM THOSE LEGS

Leg warmers were a fatal attraction of the 80s especially in a dance room, aerobics class or other similar activities. Wearing leg warmers over latex or spandex workout wear in bright Pepto pink and banana yellow colors was a trend but now when we look back, we couldn’t help but spiral into a state of utter blush and embarrassment.

  • FEATHERS WERE FLYYY

Volumes of hair was an accepted and appreciated trend back in the 80s. Julia Roberts, Sarah Jessica Parker, Christina Applegate and even Madonna, were all spotted in this fly hairstyle. A head full of tremendous volume with feather bangs was the cue haircut of the 80s.

  • MAD PLASTIC EARRINGS

As if the volcano of overly tweezed hair with feathered bangs wasn’t enough, tacky plastic earrings were combined with quirky paint job outfits and were adorned with proud in the streets back in the 80s.

  • ACID WASH DENIM DRAMA

A double trouble of denims combined for a both top and bottom wear was evident of a classic 80s street fashion.  Although these denims are brought back into fashion nowadays but thankfully efforts were taken to remove tacky bedazzling and unnecessary textures from the denims and the fit is also improvised.

  • WHAT THE FLOOF

Wedding dresses were believed to be all about the floof. It was alleged that as bouncy and dense the silhouette of the dress is, the luckier the bride will be. Surprising right? Other than the hair the wedding dresses consumed a voluminous profile and such designs were caught in limelight adorned by famous celebrities like Diana Ross in the 80s.
